Frequently asked questions

About these resources.

Four short answers.

Where do the figures come from?

Test rules come from their publishers: FNEGE for the Tage Mage, GMAC for the GMAT, and ETS for the GRE, TOEIC, and TOEFL. Admission requirements come from the institutions. Each guide cites its sources; study advice is Upsilar’s own.

Guide, section guide, preparation: what is the difference?

The guide explains the test and its scoring. A section guide covers a subtest or section: what it assesses, its format, and its method. The preparation page presents Upsilar’s practice, curriculum, and plans. The TAGE MAGE, the GMAT, the GRE and the TOEIC each have their own, in their own tab. The TOEFL has resources and a free preparation guide; the platform does not offer TOEFL preparation.

Do I need an account?

No. Guides, the articles, and section guides can be read without an account, as can the sample results. A free account is for practicing on the platform. See the platform

Are the figures up to date?

Each guide and school list shows its verification date. The most recent guide verification is dated October 15, 2026; the latest school review is dated October 5, 2026. Tage Mage institutions are listed in two FNEGE directories; the GMAT and GRE directories use program admissions pages. Always check your program’s requirements for your intended cycle.
