Who we are

Upsilar is published by JB Advisory, a French simplified joint-stock company (société par actions simplifiée), whose registered office is at 144 avenue de Malakoff, 75016 Paris, France. The legal notices (in French) are here →. To reach us: contact@upsilar.com.

These terms apply to the use of the website and of the app (app.upsilar.com). By creating an account, you accept them.

The service

Upsilar helps you prepare for admission tests: a study plan built topic by topic, practice questions, courses, mock exams, a Coach and a Forge that generates exercises. The list of tests and features evolves, and not every feature is available yet for every test.

Estimated scores, recommendations and results are study tools. No result on the test is guaranteed: it also depends on your work and on the day of the exam. Upsilar is independent of the organisations that design or administer these tests, whose names belong to their owners.

Your account

  • You are at least 15 years old.
  • The information you give is accurate, and you keep it up to date.
  • An account is personal: one person, one account. You do not share your credentials, and you tell us without delay if you think they have been compromised.
  • You are responsible for what is done from your account.

Plans and access

As of the date of the last update, access is free, within the limits of the free plan shown in the app (quotas of questions, mock exams, Coach exchanges and Forge generations).

The paid plans presented on the website are not yet on sale. Before any payment, you will receive their additional conditions: price, term, right of withdrawal, cancellation.

Rules of use

Use is personal and non-commercial. You may not:

  • copy, extract or republish the questions, answers, courses or illustrations, in whole or in part, by hand or by program;
  • resell, share or lend your access;
  • get around the usage limits of your plan, or try to reach what is not open to your account;
  • disrupt the service or test its security without our written agreement;
  • use the service in a way that is unlawful or infringes the rights of others.

Content and intellectual property

The questions, answers, courses, illustrations, software and the Upsilar brand belong to JB Advisory or its licensors. As long as your account exists, you have a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use them to prepare yourself. Nothing else is granted to you.

Your answers and your progress remain yours: we process them to run the service, as the privacy page explains.

AI Coach

The Coach's answers are produced automatically. They may contain errors or approximations: check them against your courses and your test's official sources. They are not personalised advice. Do not enter personal information it does not need.

Availability and changes

We do our best to keep the service available, but it may be interrupted for maintenance or an incident. We keep changing it: a feature may change or disappear. If the change affects a plan you have paid for, we tell you in advance.

Suspension and closing your account

You can stop using Upsilar whenever you like and ask for your account to be deleted by writing to contact@upsilar.com: we erase it with its data, as the privacy page explains.

We may suspend or close an account that seriously or repeatedly breaches these terms, after warning you, except in an emergency or where the security of the service is at risk.

Liability

We are liable for the direct damage our fault causes you, within the limits the law allows. We are not liable for the results you obtain on the tests, for the decisions you take on the basis of the recommendations, or for indirect losses. Nothing in these terms excludes a liability that the law does not allow to be excluded, nor takes away the rights the law gives a consumer.

Personal data

What we process, why, where, for how long, and how to exercise your rights: the privacy page →.

Changes to these terms

We may change these terms. We inform you of any significant change, in the app or by e-mail, before it takes effect; the date at the top of the page is that of the latest version. If you do not accept it, you can delete your account.

Governing law

These terms are governed by French law. If you are a consumer, you keep the protection of the mandatory provisions of the country where you live, and you may bring a claim before the court of your place of residence. If a problem arises, write to us first: we will look for an amicable solution.
