Which date should you check first?

Start with the deadline for your target program and what it requires by that date: a self-reported score, an official report received, or a complete application. Confirm the rule directly with the institution. Simply taking the test before the deadline does not guarantee that your application will be accepted for review.

The official score-report page says reports are usually available within three to five days, though processing may exceptionally take up to 20 days. This does not necessarily include every stage of an institution’s application processing. Leave a reasonable buffer and do not plan around the fastest case.

Check appointment availability in the official booking flow. A list of cities found elsewhere does not prove that a seat is available on your date or that your preferred time slot is open.

What should you check on your account and ID?

GMAC’s ID Requirements page requires a valid, legible document with a recognizable photo, signature, and matching information. The name on your profile, written in the Latin alphabet, must exactly match the document, including name order; your date of birth must also match. Accepted documents may depend on the country where you take the test and your citizenship.

Do not assume that an ID accepted for another exam will automatically be sufficient. GMAC states, for example, that a passport is required when you take the test outside your country of citizenship. Check the requirements that apply to your situation before paying, especially if you have multiple names or are renewing a document.

What cost should you expect for a test taken from France?

GMAC’s pricing page asks you to select a country and notes that prices, local taxes, and rules depend on the test location or, for the online exam, your location. In the October 5, 2026 snapshot, with France selected, it listed €275 for a test-center exam and €300 online. Rescheduling then cost €55–€165 at a test center and €60–€180 online, depending on how far in advance you made the change. These historical amounts must be reconfirmed. Current instructions require rescheduling or canceling more than 24 hours before the appointment; otherwise, you lose the exam fee.

Select France on the official page, then check the test format and payment summary. Record the exam fee, any possible change fee, cancellation terms, and any optional service separately. This gives you a realistic budget; reusing an old amount in dollars or euros may mix countries, formats, and dates.

The pitfall

Paying for a seat does not fix an ID or equipment problem

The ID requirements apply on test day. Likewise, for an online appointment, paying does not show that your computer or room meets the requirements. Resolve these issues before choosing a date that is too close.

Also, do not confuse an account-creation confirmation with an appointment confirmation. Keep the summary that identifies your actual session and check its time zone.

What should you prepare after the appointment is confirmed?

Reread the confirmation and compare it with your calendar: date, time, test format, and test-center address or login procedure. Keep useful documents together. For an online appointment, run the technical checks on the computer and in the location you will actually use.

Finally, add a session to familiarize yourself with the permitted materials and a last review of the official instructions. The goal is not to add more studying, but to resolve any open administrative decisions. The official links below remain the reference for your personal booking.
